This week we didn’t have any guests because there was just too much to talk about. Matt Cava of UFCTakedown.com and I had some heated debates regarding:
* Hermes Franca and whether we believe he’s a sympathetic figure
* More banter about my prediction that Josh Koscheck will defeat Georges St. Pierre at UFC 74
* A rundown of all the new matchups for UFC 76 and 77 that were reported this week
* A discussion about Tito Ortiz’s recent comments in a UFCMania.com interview where he stated that fighters are talking about forming a union.
* We discuss the UFC lightweight title situation and who our top four seeds would be if the UFC decided to have a tournament for the title if they in fact strip Sean Sherk (I make it a point to go off on Roger Huerta)
* Our thoughts on what has been the best match of the year in MMA thus far.
You will also want to be sure to tune in next week as we present a full-hour devoted to previewing UFC 74.
You can also check out our first show by clicking here.
We’d also like to thank all the people who listened last week. As always, we’re doing this show for you so if you have any feedback, please be sure to leave a comment here or send us an e-mail.

I’m sure I’m taking his quote out of context, but I will link to the entire FightNetwork.com article so you can see for yourself. But there’s a quote where in a new article about Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett where he claims he “made” MMA:
“People go, ‘Oh he’s not good for the sport,’ but believe it or not I made the sport,” he says.
Count me among those who believe he’s bad for the sport. Look, I’m not some neo-conservative self-righteous prick who is naive about the world. People fuck up, it’s a part of life. I also believe people deserve second chances and the benefit of the doubt. But what chance is Krazy Horse on? I lost track but I do know we’re well past the point of number two.
If Krazy Horse wasn’t in a niche sport and was an athlete in Major League Baseball, the NFL, or the NBA, there would be all kinds of people putting heat to have him suspended or banned. EliteXC is flying under the mainstream radar right now so they can get away with making Bennett a big part of their marketing plan, but MMA continues to grow and there will come a time when their devotion to him will come back to haunt them.
I’m sure there are those that will take his defense and say I don’t know the full story or that he’s misunderstood, but you don’t get arrested as much as he does or serve as much time he has unless you’re into some bad shit.
He’s served his time and deserves the right to make a living but if I was in charge of a promotion, I wouldn’t do business with him.
Bennett will be fighting in the main event of the second-ever ShoXC card on Saturday, August 25 in a rematch against Victor “Joe Boxer” Valenzuela. A lot of people might count Valenzuela out because he got caught in a heel hook against Edson Berto in June, but Valenzuela is a bad ass and you’re not going to see much Jiu-Jitsu in the bout (unless it’s from him). I’m expecting a brawl.

I don’t know how he does it, but UFCjunkie.com seemingly has a pipeline of info when it comes to getting the inside scoop on upcoming UFC matchups.
According to Junkie, Matt Grice is claiming that he’ll be fighting former Pride fighter Jason Black on the UFC 77 undercard. Junkie is also reporting that there’s a chance that Josh Burkman’s opponent at UFC 77 will be Forrest Petz.
UFC 77 is scheduled to take place in Cincinnati, Oho on October 20. Here’s the rumored card:
* Anderson Silva vs. Rich Franklin for the UFC middleweight title
* Tito Ortiz vs. Rashard Evans (note: Ortiz wants this fight to take place in Vegas so we might not see it at UFC 77)
* Marvin Eastman vs. Demian Maia
* Alan Belcher vs. Kalib Starnes
* Stephan Bonnar vs. Eric Schafer
* Josh Burkman vs. Forrest Petz (extremely tentative)
* Jorge Gurgel vs. Doug Evans
* Jason Black vs. Matt Grice

Abraham Lincoln with rabies, er, Jason Black (21-3-1) will return to the Octagon against fellow lightweight Matt Grice (8-1) at UFC 77 on October 20 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
This latest news comes via a MySpace message from Grice and confirmation from MMAWeekly.com.
Black ran into a buzz saw in his Octagon debut against Thiago Tavares at UFC Fight Night (UFN) 10, succumbing to a triangle choke midway through round two. He is an experienced fighter with most of his appearances in smaller promotions, as well as a handful of bouts in PRIDE FC, prior to joining the UFC.
During the weigh-ins for UFN 10, Black was so emaciated (and was sporting some old school chops) that UFC matchmaker Joe Silva quipped that he looked like Lincoln with rabies.
Grice — a four-time Oklahoma State high school wrestling champion — also dropped his first fight inside the Octagon to Terry Etim via guillotine choke at UFC 70 back in April. “The Wolverine” was doing well early in the fight but slipped up and simply got caught.
