Round 3: 10-9 Griffin
Round 4: 10-9 Jackson
Round 5: 10-9 Griffin
Personally, I don’t agree that Rampage was “robbed” in this decision whatsoever — I think Griffin clearly controlled rounds 1, 2, and 5 — but for all three judges to give round 3 to the challenger is very questionable; Rampage found his distance in that round and started landing his lead-fisted punch combos. But then again, all three judges gave round 4 to Jackson, which I saw as a very close frame that could have been scored for Griffin due to his triangle attempt, which came within a ball-hair of finishing the fight. I’m sure the argument will rage on, but there’s one thing we can all agree on: These judges are totally incompetent. Where’s Cecil Peoples when you need him?
As if there was any doubt, Rampage vs. Forrest won UFC 86’s Fight of the Night bonus, with both headliners picking up $60,000 for their event-saving performance. As mentioned earlier, Knockout of the Night went to Melvin Guillard for his 36-second destruction of Dennis Siver, and Submission of the Night went to Cole Miller for choking out Jorge Gurgel; those bonuses were also worth $60k. Full payout info to come as soon as we have it…

Ultimate Fighter 2 alumnus and oft-troubled lightweight Melvin Guillard (21-7-2) is returning to the UFC — a bit sooner than expected — to take on Germany’s Dennis Siver (11-5) at UFC 86 in Las Vegas, Nevada according to UFC.com.
“The Young Assassin” was granted a temporary release from the UFC, which he detailed in a colorful diatribe right here, after he lost to hated rival Rich Clementi via submission (rear naked choke) at UFC 79: “Nemesis” back in December 2007.
It was the second straight defeat for the Louisianna native and the first since returning from a nine-month drug suspension (cocaine) after his loss to Joe Stevenson at UFC Fight Night 9 in April 2007.
Guillard got back to his winning ways after taking a unanimous decision win over Eric Regan at Rage in the Cage last month. Apparently that victory was sufficient enough for him to rejoin the ranks of the lightweight division — a division that he may find himself near the bottom of thanks to an absolute plethora of talented fighters.
If fans and critics are going to take him seriously, he needs to make a statement against Dennis Siver. That may be easier said than done. Despite being outpointed by Gray Maynard back at Fight Night 12 and having an overall record of 1-2 in the UFC, Siver hasn’t been knocked out in sixteen fights (Guillard’s strength) and more than half of his wins have come by submission (Guillard’s weakness).
This may be Guillard’s last chance at success in the UFC. Let’s hope the time away from the Octagon has helped him get his priorities in order.

Yes, yes and yes … UFCmania.com will provide real-time results for UFC 75: “Champion vs. Champion” on Saturday, September 8.
We’ve received numerous emails and inquiries about whether or not we will provide LIVE coverage of the event. That’s because it will be aired here in the United States via tape delay at 9 p.m. ET on Spike television.
In a perfect world, we wouldn’t cover the show from the O2 Arena in London, England, until the last possible minute. However, there is no real way for us to stop our readers from leaving potential spoiler comments.
In addition, it’s not really fair for the large amount of readers beyond our borders who frequent the site.
Having said that, expect to get the quick updates for the event right here on Saturday afternoon when the action starts in England. We’ll LIVE blog the tape delayed portion of the event as it happens here in the United States at 9 p.m. ET.
And what action it is going to be with the “unification” bout between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rampage Jackson against PRIDE FC Middleweight Champion, Dan Henderson.
It’s the one fight this writer has been eagerly anticipating since it was announced back in May.
Hometown hero Michael Bisping will also clash with Matt Hammil in a 205-pound match up, and Mirko Cro Cop will look to get back to his winning ways against Frenchman, Cheick Kongo, in a heavyweight tilt.

For now use this post to talk about the event, as well as share your thoughts on who you think will come out victorious.
