Wow … talk about a reception for UFC Welterweight Champion, Matt Serra, during the official weigh-in for UFC 83: “Serra vs. St. Pierre 2” this afternoon.
It was a downright hostile crowd at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, which is not surprising considering Serra’s opponent — and hometown star — Georges St. Pierre, as well as his “disparaging” remarks heading into this event.
I just can’t fathom what it’s going to be like tomorrow night when the fight actually takes place.
“If you’re pissed right now, wait until Saturday night,” Serra shouted over the crowd. Something tells me the Mounties should crack out the riot gear just in case that prediction is accurate.
Meanwhile, Michael Bisping and Charles McCarthy head a head-bumping, obscenity-swapping staredown. And there’s clearly no love lost between Jason MacDonald and Joe Doerksen.
Amazing stuff.
At any rate, here are the complete UFC 83 weigh-in results:
170 lbs.: Matt Serra (169.5) vs. Georges St. Pierre (169.5) 185 lbs.: Rich Franklin (185.5) vs. Travis Lutter (185) 185 lbs.: Michael Bisping (185.5) vs. Charles McCarthy (186) 155 lbs.: Mac Danzig (154.5) vs. Mark Bocek (154.5) 185 lbs.: Kalib Starnes (186) vs. Nate Quarry (185.5) — swing bout 185 lbs.: Jason MacDonald (185) vs. Joe Doerksen (184.5) 185 lbs.: Alan Belcher (185) vs. Jason Day (183.5) 185 lbs.: Ed Herman (185.5) vs. Demian Maia (184.5) 155 lbs.: Sam Stout (155.5) vs. Rich Clementi (155) 265 lbs.: Cain Velasquez (235.5) vs. Brad Morris (225.5) 170 lbs.: Jonathan Goulet (169.5) vs. Kuniyoshi Hironaka (170)

The televised portion of the pay-per-view (PPV) event begins tomorrow (Saturday, April 19) at 10 p.m. ET. We will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of the main card action at this time.
UFC 83 quick results, however, will begin to flow earlier than that here at MMAmania.com at about 8:00 p.m. ET with the prelim fights.
Tomorrow is going to be insane — it’s going to be absolute pandemonium inside the Bell Centre. Remember to hit us up for all the latest results coverage before, during and after the action.
While other TUF 6 castmembers were content to put holes through walls and defecate in unauthorized areas of their toilet, Mac Danzig installed a birdfeeder in the house’s backyard to realign his karma in relation to the rest of the world’s creatures. It’s that attitude of “Leave things better than you found them” that’s part of the reason we became such huge Mac fans during last season of The Ultimate Fighter. Sure, he was a miserable asshole at times, but you try living with a bunch of idiots and see what it does to your morale. In this interview, Danzig talks about his matchup with Mark Bocek at UFC 83, the UFC’s stacked lightweight division, and moving to Las Vegas to join the Xtreme Couture camp.
Mac Danzig (17-4-1) — the welterweight winner of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 6 — will make his lightweight debut inside the Octagon against Mark Bocek (5-1) at UFC 84 on April 19 in Montreal, Canada, according to FightNetwork.com.
Danzig snapped a two-fight losing streak when he made his Octagon debut, defeating Tommy Speer at the TUF 6 Finale on December 8, 2007, to capture the TUF 6 welterweight crown. The PETA poster boy announced during his post-fight interview that he intended to compete at lightweight (155 pounds) going forward.
That decision pits him against Bocek — a Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist from Canada with two UFC fights already under his belt. He has one win (unanimous decision) over Doug Evans at UFC 79: “Nemesis” and one loss (technical knockout) to Frank Edgar at UFC 73: “Stacked.”
Not surprisingly Bocek is another Canadian who adds more Canadian flavor to the Canadian card. To check out the most recent UFC 84 fight card click here.
The field of 20 fighters for UFC 79: “Nemesis” have all weighed-in this evening for the blockbuster pay-per-view (PPV) event tomorrow night from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
For those who didn’t catch the Internet broadcast we have the weigh-in results below.
Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva had a HEATED staredown. Toward the end Silva did a little head fake and the two fighters were separated immediately. Then Liddell flipped of Wanderlei and it caused some havoc on the stage.
Amazing. Totally sets the stage for a ridiculous brawl tomorrow night.
Anyway, here are the official results:

Canadian Brazilian jiu-jitsu phenom Mark Bocek (4-1) will return to action inside the Octagon against Doug Evans (5-1) at UFC 79: “Nemesis” on December 29, according to MMAWeekly.com.
Both lightweights are looking to bounce back from the first losses in their careers the last time out.
Frank Edgar stopped Bocek via technical knockout with just five seconds remaining in round one at UFC 73: “Stacked” back in July. Evans, on the other hand, opened a few eyes with an impressive performance — albeit in a technical knockout loss — to Roger Huerta at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 Finale in June.
The 155-pound clash will most likely be featured on the undercard of the New Year’s Eve weekend pay-per-view (PPV) event from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Serra is booked to defend his title for the first time against former 170-pound champion, Matt Hughes, in the main event of the evening.
In addition, former MMA champions Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva will co-headline the show when the two finally meet in a light heavyweight megabout that has been years in the making.

MMAJunkie.com reported the fight earlier this afternoon. Evans (5-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) made his UFC debut at the TUF 5 Finale on Jun. 23 falling to Roger Huerta by TKO in the second round. However, in the first round he was giving Huerta all he could handle and more.
Mark Bocek (4-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) debuted in the UFC at UFC 73 in July falling by first round KO to Frankie Edgar. The bout carries extra importance for both due to the fact that neither can afford to drop to 0-2 in the ultra-competitive UFC Lightweight division.
UFC 79 is set for Dec. 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The headlining bouts are Matt Hughes challenging Matt Serra for the UFC Welterweight championship and a long anticipated Light Heavyweight battle between former Light Heavyweight champ Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell and Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva.
